Foam, resin, paint, plaster, wood, Dimensions variable, 2025
Ariana builds a white architectural environment that looks calm at first: curved walls, narrow passages, and small dark openings along the gallery walls. The structure suggests a maze, but also a pillow fort, carrying a childlike softness that is immediately complicated by risk.

As viewers look across the space, they can imagine moving through it, but the body is forced to negotiate each turn and barrier. This creates a sense of the invasive, where space does not simply welcome us but presses against our limits. Through the idea of opening without invitation, Ariana questions what it means for something to be exposed, entered, or approached. The work turns movement into an ethical problem, making consent visible through architecture, distance, and bodily hesitation.
The walls rise, confining and directing movement, narrowing pathways until they become invasive. A canal, a bodily offering. A space opened without invitation. The mind and gaze can traverse the space, but the body cannot follow without confrontation. The inability to move freely foregrounds consent. A maze, a pillow fort, a risk.
