A ceramic spool rests above two concrete cylinders, held by narrow lengths of rebar. The tall structure borrows the visual language of tool and machinery, yet no clear operation is possible. Its suspended function places it somewhere between workshop equipment and sculpture.

The heavy base supports a narrower, more fragile-looking upper section. This uneven spread of mass brings weight and balance to the front of the work. The structure looks uncertain, but it remains upright.

Its height and frontal stance also give it the presence of a small monument. Amy keeps the forms of labour and production visible while removing the task such equipment would usually perform. What remains is a machine-like object paused for closer attention.
A ceramic spool, concrete, rebar, and found materials are assembled into a structure that oscillates between tool, machine, and monument. Referencing tools/machinery of labour and production, the work transforms an vaguely familiar form into an object of suspended function, where weight, balance, and repetition become sculptural concerns.
